Koblenz is an international manufacturer of domestic and industrial floor care products, voltage regulators, battery backups, and washers. The company was founded on July 15, 1959, as a manufacturer of voltage regulators, motors, and pumps. During the 1960s the company added vacuum cleaners and shampoo/polishers to its product line.
In 1961 Koblenz developed its first vacuum cleaner, with an all-metal chassis and a single-stage motor. The introduction of this vacuum cleaner in foreign markets was a success due to the ruggedness and durability of the product design. In 1968 Koblenz introduced the first line of Rug Shampooers and Floor Polishers. In 1972 the company started manufacturing washing machines. In 1998 the company introduced a Total Floor Care System to satisfy the everyday needs of consumers worldwide.
Koblenz currently exports products to over 27 countries throughout the world including North America, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Saudi Arabia, Europe, Central, and South America.
The company´s vertical integration in manufacturing processes, including metal stampings, injection molding, motor winding, and assembly, have allowed Koblenz to offer customers, turnkey project development from state-of-the-art design sketches to high-quality finished products.
For over 60 years Koblenz has developed high-quality Floor Care products targeted at solving real consumer needs in both the domestic and industrial markets.

It is always important for a company to find ways of diversifying its customer base. Exporting not only allows increased sales but also provides key information about global trends and industry direction. Koblenz currently sells to over 27 countries around the world. The exclusive distributor for Koblenz products in Mexico is Lienz, S.A. de C.V. Lienz markets industrial equipment, chemicals, and accessories nationwide and is the largest importer and distributor of janitorial supplies in the country of Mexico.
Research & Development
Research and development, including manufacturing engineering, is carried out by a group of over 100 engineers and technicians located in the main plant.
Since 1959 when our first voltage regulator was manufactured, Koblenz has introduced numerous engineering and design innovations and has many patents to its credit. Product engineering has played an important part in developing new directions regarding design, safety, durability, and dependability in Koblenz products.
Engineers, researchers, designers, and other specialists, including a staff of industrial design consultants in Chicago and New York, seek not only to improve manufacturing techniques, methods, and products used today but look ahead to the future with the goal of ensuring new and better products.
Quality & Manufacturing
Quality has to be designed into the product from its conception. The proper raw materials and design parameters are fundamental. Basic engineering development has to be done working hand in hand with manufacturing and engineering. Koblenz spends over 3 million dollars a year to improve tooling and machinery. Quality comes from high-speed automatic machines where tolerances are controlled, in many cases, by computers. Human error is reduced to a minimum by building the specifications into automatic processes. An uncompromising commitment to quality and customer satisfaction is our goal. Koblenz has been awarded ISO 9001-2015 certification.
Contrary to common belief, as the cost of production goes down, the quality goes up. Koblenz spends millions of dollars each year to reduce costs. Industrial and process engineers, tool engineers, and designers spend thousands of man/hours to simplify and automate production processes. Millions are spent each year on new automatic machinery to improve quality and reduce costs.
